Part of the exclusive Kamilo community at the Mauna Lani Resort, this newly built luxury vacation rental on the Big Island of Hawaii will charm you with its views of the mountains and golf course, and convenient location. Four suite-style bedrooms, including one in a separate guest house, give you resort-worthy comfort in a private home setting.

Guests of the villa are welcome to use the Kamilo community’s shared pools, fitness center, hot tubs and barbecue pavilion, as well as the Mauna Lani Resort’s beach club. If you’d like, you can also arrange to use the Mauna Lani golf club, tennis courts, and sports club. Of course, the villa also has its own inviting outdoor living area with shaded sitting and dining areas, a sunny terrace with lounge chairs, a pool and hot tub, and a barbecue where you can entertain family, sample local seafood or simply relax.

Laid out around an open-plan great room, Kamilo 329 uses a palette of beachy tones to stylish modern effect. Sand-colored tile floors and a woven-paneled vaulted ceiling set a tropical theme that’s enhanced by blue coral-print pillows on the sofas and wicker dining chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and is open to the great room as well as a television lounge, so grown-ups can keep an eye on kids watching a movie as they prep dinner.

There are three bedrooms in the villa’s main house and one in a separate guest house; each has an en-suite bathroom. In the main house, there are two bedrooms with king beds and one bedroom with two twin beds. The guest house, which could be used as a tucked-away space for in-laws or even a honeymoon suite, has a king bed.

Begin your Hawaiian holiday with a flight into Kona International Airport, 22 miles from the villa, or Hilo International Airport, 72 miles away. Once you’ve arrived in Kamilo, you can walk to the grocery store or the Mauna Lani restaurants and shops, all about 15 minutes away. It’s a 5-minute drive to the resort’s sports club and the nearest oceanfront golf course, a 1.5-mile drive to the Mauna Lani Beach Club and a 7-mile drive to the golden sands and snorkeling of Hapuna Beach State Park. While you’re on the Big Island, it’s worth exploring Waimea, Kailua-Kona and Kohala to sample the local flavors—especially the famous coffee—and browse for souvenirs.
